Teachers'
introduction to the project
The
content of this project is aimed at pupils aged 14-18
who are studying Modern World History at Examination
Level, and who have already gained some insights into
the lead up to and nature of the Korean War. The project
is based around a series of themes that examine period
representations of Korean life and the Korean War. These
sources were mostly generated as subtle propaganda materials,
and were intended as a way of representing a case about
Korean and the impact of the War. There are associated
tasks and some background text, outline biographies,
briefing information, and student activities. The skills
used within the tasks are typical of those required
at Examination level and the tasks offer a range of
activities to support variety, diversity and engagement.
This
area is intended to support teachers and other adults
working with young people and includes links to the
background information and resources which could be
used to create a series of active lessons which use
the materials provided within the project.
