Introduction
This section
examines the Chinese communist view of UN and US motives
for their campaign in Korea. Throughout the 1950's and
1960's the Chinese and North Korean governments campaigned
to persuade outsiders that the West was interfering
in their domestic affairs and in their home region,
whilst western powers criticised the communist regimes
for undemocratic and repressive behaviour.
This section
is focused on understanding and using evidence, and
on handling biased accounts of events. It is important
to accept that bias does not make a source wrong or
unusable, but that it might change the way that we use
that source, and the conclusions that we are able to
reach.
