Activity
3: Supporting evidence
There
are times when one source could be said to be
supporting another source. The meaning of the
word support here is related to whether one account
or item backs up another piece of evidence. We
might want to consider whether a source supports
another by looking at its content or nature.
Look
carefully at these two propaganda items. They
present Chinese or North Korean interpretation
of US motives in Korea and the surrounding region.
One
is a cartoon; the other is a text source.
|
Task
After
you have looked at both sources answer the
following questions.
1.
What, in simple terms is each source saying
about America's motive for the Korean War?
2.
Does the cartoon source support the text
source?
