Europe
v America Tenpin 2000 :
2nd - 4th June 2000
The United
States, captained by Tim Mack of New Jersey, have won the
inaugural Europe V USA Tenpin Bowling Challenge in Warsaw.
Ultimately they won with room to spare as Brian Kretzer and
then Michael Mullin turned on the style to win the final two
matches and give their side the vital 18 points.
The event
comprised a series of singles and doubles matches, with each
match being over one game with total pinfall determining the
winner. Ties were settled by a sudden death 9th & 10th frame
play-off, with the scores reverting to zero.
Over
the three days of play, there were up to 35 matches. The winner
of each match received one point. Therefore the first team
to reach 18 points was declared the winner of the Europe v
America Tenpin Bowling Challenge and the US Team, consisting
of Michael Mullin, Bill Hoffman, Kelly Kulick, Brian Kretzer
and Captain Tim Mack, triumphed with an evening session to
spare.
