The most
prestigious event in the darts calendar takes place once again
in the wildest venue in modern darts, the Circus Tavern in
Purfleet, Essex, from 28 December 2001 – 5 January 2002.
This
event features the top 32 PDC ranked players including nine-times
World Champion and current titleholder, Phil Taylor. Other
stars from the oche will be hoping to steal Taylor’s crown,
including ‘The Prince of Style’, Rod Harrington, former World
Champion Eric Bristow and World No. 2 Peter Manley. John Lowe,
Keith Deller and Dennis ‘The Menace’ Priestley will also be
ones to watch. With an estimated £225,000 prize fund, this
is dart’s jewel in the crown.
